The aims & objectives are based on the principle of looking to the future, rather than harping back to the past, whilst maintaining the principles that have been the building blocks of Round Dancing in the UK.

The Round Dance Council - Seeks to promote Round Dancing in the UK via educating, training, encouraging and informing. (Organising Workshops for Cuers & Dancers).

Is to facilitate cuer/teacher support and education and to assist in the growth of cuer/ teacher training and leadership skills, providing a formal teaching structure, within a friendly and supportive environment to encourage learning.           Image courtesy of Richard Stevens

It is to be transparent in its dealing with all.

Is to promote clear standards, e.g. RAL terminology and Code of Ethics.

Will increase knowledge and proficiency in all dance rhythms and phases amongst cuers, teachers and dancers.

Will recruit new cuers/teachers from current dancers and encourage 'Angel' dancers for cuer practice wherever possible.
